Resurrection House is a Building Ministry for those called to aid our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in need of housing due to impoverished conditions or natural disasters
Goal: Show our love for God by loving others
Target: Very low income people who own homes that have either deteriorated beyond repair or have been severely damaged by natural disasters
How: By working together to replace dilapidated housing with new energy efficient homes that will provide years of economical living
Construction Technique: Using volunteer labor, we are going to build a small high quality home on the church property to 90% completion and then move it to it's permanent location at 3671 Lyon's Street in Macon, Georgia. This new house will replace an existing one that is currently occupied yet beyond repair.
Volunteers: Volunteers will be recruited from our church, the community and other churches. Watch for a schedule of construction times to be posted here and at the church
Cost: The estimated cost of materials is $30,000
Praise GOD! The people of Vineville United Methodist have EXCEEDED the budget of $30,000 by giving over $34,000.
Needs: We are currently in need of the following:
- PRAYER - Pray for this ministry
- SNACKS - Please contact Sonny @ sonnyseneker@cox.net or 719-2242 if you would like to provide snacks for the workers.
- TEMPORARY HOUSING - We have decided to put Sheila and her grandmother up in the "In Town Suites". This is an extended stay hotel that offers all the amenities and flexibility we need. We have had several people pledge to cover the cost of their stay. PRAISE GOD!
CHALLENGE: Can we have them in their new home by Christmas?
Vision for the future: We believe that the project will inspire our church and other churches to build more houses. The simplicity of the house and the ability to easily transport it open many doors of opportunity locally and as far away as the coastal and mountain areas of the Southeast
