A 2008 Listing of Missional Opportunities

Vineville United Methodist Church

Scripture tells us in Mark 12 to “love God” and to “love others”… These are the two greatest commandments.

This year, Vineville United Methodist Church has chosen to offer two ways in which you can be in service through missions: [1] through financial giving opportunities beyond the tithe (Designated Giving) and [2] through hands on projects (Missional Opportunities).  Vineville UMC has committed $50,000 in the General Budget to further God’s kingdom through missions.  Many of the projects listed on this page and the next are supported through the general fund, but we also invite your “second mile” gifts.  We are offering many opportunities and ask you to pray about where you can join God in his work.  Join us in the work of the Lord as we give of our prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service.

(Please make checks payable to Vineville United Methodist Church and your contribution will be sent by Vineville UMC to the appropriate opportunity.  All giving is tax deductible.)

“Missional Opportunities”:

*Resurrection House: What an incredible journey this has been with God and the members or our church! Only God could use the hands of doctors, lawyers, housewives and business men and women to build a beautiful home like this. I pray that we have been the light of Jesus for others to see by ending the suffering for Shelia and her grandmother.  I pray that this gift from God will give them new hope and assurance in His promise to provide for our needs and that their lives will be changed forever.

This I know is true in regards to this ministry: Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  Be aware of God interacting in our lives and be looking to see what other good works He has prepared for us to do.                     --–Sonny Seneker

*Crossroads Counseling Center is an ongoing outreach centered in Martha Bowman and Vineville United Methodist Churches.  This year, we are making a special effort to undergurd and support the ministry of Crossroads.
