A 2009 Listing of Missional Opportunities
Vineville United Methodist Church
Scripture tells us in Mark 12 to “love God” and to “love others”… These are the two greatest commandments.
Vineville United Methodist Church has chosen to offer two ways in which you can be in service through missions: [1] through financial giving opportunities beyond the tithe (Designated Giving) and [2] through hands on projects (Missional Opportunities). Vineville UMC has committed $50,000 in the General Budget to further God’s kingdom through missions. Many of the projects listed on this page and the next are supported through the general fund, but we also invite your “second mile” gifts. We are offering many opportunities and ask you to pray about where you can join God in his work. Join us in the work of the Lord as we give of our prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service. |

*Humble Place: The Office of Connectional Ministries and the Open Hands Partnership have invited local churches, Sunday school classes, small group(s), and/or individuals to consider a three-year commitment of $1,500.00 to sponsor a child at Humble United Methodist School. Many groups within at Vineville UMC are heading the call to sponsor a child. A three-year commitment will ensure financial continuity and stability as Humble United Methodist School prepares for the primary education of 250 children each year.
- What does the sponsorship include? This pays for a student to live as a boarding student at Humble United Methodist School, providing food, clothing, shelter, spiritual enrichment, education, medical care, and transportation back to their village during school breaks.
- Are my sponsorships tax-deductible? Yes. All sponsorships are tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt from the church office for your contribution.
- How do I send the funds? Please make your check payable to your local church and clearly mark Humble School Program/Scholarship Fund Conference Advance #1754. Your church will send the gift(s) to the South Georgia Conference Treasurer (P.O. Box 52101, Macon, GA 31208).
